Photography often puts me in some of the most exciting moments and I love capturing them. Usually it’s best demonstrated by people at Weddings or special events – but on occasions, my work takes me on animal adventures – and they are sometimes just as fun.
Whether it’s Pet Photography, taking pictures of that special four-legged member of the family or whether it’s Zoo Photography, capturing some of the wildest and most exotic creatures – it’s always a blast. Some of the highlights for me would have been when a bride was surprised to see her beloved horse trot towards her on her wedding day. Or the surprise birthday gift of being covered in Meerkats for my husband’s birthday.
I have a special soft-spot for all things animals, and animal photography is an absolute highlight for me. So if you’re a zoo or farm looking for photography or a family who knows that a pet is every bit as important a part of the pack – then I’d love to come and capture some special moments.
There’s always something especially romantic about February weddings, but sometimes you can find yourself at the mercy of the elements! However, a few weeks back now, I was able to share in Scott and Louises’ special day – and the weather stayed calm throughout the whole day. The crisp, almost Spring like, day showcased just some of the awesome Field Place settings and scenery that surrounded this amazing couple.
Both Scott and Louise’s fun and friendly personalities shone through the entire day. It was such a privilege to be asked to capture their marriage and be a part of their infectious joy that quickly spread throughout their guests.
Maybe it was best illustrated by Scott’s ‘being pulled away from the car’ idea, which was a fantastically funny scene to create and capture for them. Either that or Louise’s super-classy denim jacket with her new married name on the back. The day was filled with memorable moments just like these, and I loved every second of it – nearly as much as they clearly did. Congratulations to such a beautiful couple and thank-you for having me at your special celebration.
It has been a tremendous honour to have worked with the Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) here in Brighton over the last year. The charity works around the country to provide houses for parents and families that need emergency accommodation when a child is taken to hospital away from home. As they put it ‘you may need us when the best medical care for your child isn’t close to home’. It’s such an important and wonderful service that enables families to be close to their children during potentially traumatic and certainly emotionally-straining times.
I recently became their photographer when late last year I was asked to come and capture a very special and precious moment. A family who had previously used the Brighton RMHC, and were so touched by its’ impact and support during a difficult season, revisited the house with their two children. It was such a touching moment to see the kids healthy and happy when they ran circles around me, enjoying and remembering the house’s fun activities…
As one of Field Place’s recommended photographers, I was overjoyed to hear that the venue was the national winner at the 2020 Wedding Industry Awards. It’s such an incredible privilege to photograph weddings at this gorgeous venue. The lovely staff and breath-taking scenery all contribute to so many of my favourite Big Day’s to have photographed here.
It’s an honour to have also been used in the advertising materials and promotional adverts that are being used to promote such a prestigious and award-winning venue. I can highly recommend it as a fantastic venue for weddings on the South Coast. It’s no surprise it won the 2020 Wedding Industry Award as best in the country.
Here are some of the highlights from weddings I have been a part of, that were hosted at Field Place.
One of the absolute joys of my job is hearing back from couples when they open up their photos for the first time and get to re-live the magic of their big day. I thrive on providing them with the best possible reaction, and it always encourages me to hear feedback. But one of the bonuses is that, on occasions, my work gets featured in publications around the country. Most recently in this seasons’ edition of Your Sussex Wedding. What a crazy rush to see my work in print! A big thank-you to everyone who I worked with to make it happen.
Bignor Park Estate was shrouded in a cool mist the morning of this beautiful elopement Photography shoot.
Many Sussex wedding suppliers had come together this fresh morning to create something rather special together.
Nikki from The Toast had been collating and sharing her vision of earthen tones, dramatic features and soft textures for months and the anticipation of finally bringing this dream to life was tangible in the air.
The 200 year old stables and coach house at Bignor Park Estate was the perfect backdrop with white washed walls and rustic brickwork flooring. Each supplier brought so much life and creativity to this shoot displaying their talents in such a passionate and yet gentle and intricate way.
The various scenes you will see below showcase everything you would want for a unique and stunning wedding day in Sussex.
As a Sussex wedding photographer it’s always such an honour to be a part of shoots like this where you’re part of something bigger than yourself. There were so many incredible people who came together to make this happen and the photos from this wedding elopement style shoot were really something special.
It’s always a joy to get to capture family moments – and that’s especially true with the arrival of a newborn. So it was such a lovely experience to photograph Dan and Sam both before and after the arrival of their gorgeous newborn baby girl.
Telling both sides of the story, and both shoots taking place at Warren Hill, just a few weeks apart – it was amazing to see how much of a life-changing experience a newborn baby can bring to a family. The two shoots, when put together, told the perfect story of progression from a couple of two – to a family of three.
I was so excited to capture the story amongst an atmosphere of a lush autumnal forest, surrounding such a precious and gorgeous family. Thank-you Dan and Sam for letting me capture those moments with you.
Being part of the family, this was always going to be a special wedding to photograph for me. It did mean juggling a couple of my own little munchkins throughout the day, something I doubt I’ll ever have to do again!
But it was a great privilege to do such a beautiful wedding in such a picturesque setting as Kings Weston House in Bristol. It made some perfect framing for Jeremy and Pin. Backdrops of giant blue walls, golden brickwork and luscious grounds made for the perfect pictures of such a special couple to me.
I can’t picture a more idillic start to a wedding day than weaving through the peaceful Sussex countryside towards Long Furlong Barn with the summer sun cascading over the golden fields that surround the beautiful Sussex wedding venue. Every wedding is truly beautiful and being a Shoreham wedding photographer I’ve spent many wonderful days with […]
Lydia and Michael’s wedding took place on a bright February morning where the rare winter sunshine made everyone feel like spring had arrived to celebrate with them. I met Lydia and her bridal party at her family home where she had grown up and was welcomed to the smell of croissants fresh from the oven. […]
Summer…how I love your long evenings and the almost guarantee of that golden light that makes me smile from the inside out. Lydia and Michael’s engagement shoot was photographed on one of those perfect evenings with warm breeze, long shadows and golden sunshine. They had chosen Tilgate Park in Crawley for their engagement session and […]
It was beautiful, early start to the July wedding of Mr & Mrs Adams. I arrived at the brides home to a peaceful atmosphere and the smell of coffee and croissants from the cozy kitchen where her parents were welcoming the bridesmaids and hair and make up artists. The bride, Emily, was fresh faced and […]
The first birthday of your wonderful, cheeky baby is fast approaching and what better way of documenting this momentous occasion than having them destroy a cake in the cutest way possible?! A cake smash is exactly what it says! I offer this adorable and hilarious (and oh so messy!) opportunity for you to get photos of your […]
My heart skips a beat whenever people book me for their maternity photos in Sussex. Pregnancy and pregnant women amaze me. Partners of pregnant women amaze me (I have so much respect for my husband who has walked through two pregnancies with me!). Seeing parents in this precious time just before they are holding their […]
This wedding was such a dream. A bright summer August morning in the countryside of Sussex this couple said “I do” and I had the absolute pleasure of capturing their moments as a Shoreham wedding photographer. Their ceremony was at the beautiful Saint John the Baptist Church in Findon and their reception was held at the stunning Long […]
~ happy valentine’s day ~ Love should be shared, displayed, enjoyed and remembered. You don’t have to be engaged or getting married to have some special photos taken on the two of you. I’ve taken many photoshoots of people who are simply in love with no other motives. If you’d like some beautiful photos that […]
I had the absolutely privilege of taking photos of this beautiful couple just after they had got engaged. They were so happy and smitten they didn’t mind one bit climbing over gates and under fences to get some lovely photos. The Sussex Downs at sunset is probably the most picturesque location for an engagement photoshoot in Sussex. Being […]
At the beginning of September I was asked to photograph the baby shower of some sweet friends of mine. They wanted relaxed, candid shots of them and their friends as they celebrated the imminent arrival of their baby boy. It was a lovely, peaceful evening with a great atmosphere of joy and love. It was […]
Long evenings, salty sea air, barbecue smells, sunburnt shoulders, fresh lemonade and more time spent outdoors than in. Summer, please stay a while. Brighton beach is buzzing this time of year and I love it. Being a Shoreham family photographer and Shoreham wedding photographer is honestly the best thing ever, as is having Brighton beach […]
I had the great privilege of photographing this beautiful Sussex wedding near Brighton last Saturday. The wedding ceremony was in Hove and the wedding reception was at Cisswood House Hotel in Upper Beeding in the beautiful countryside. I turned up at the brides home while she was quietly getting ready and there was such a relaxed […]
Recently I spent a sweet summer evening with this couple just days before their little one was born. They wanted a maternity photoshoot in Brighton before their little girl arrived so they could look back on this precious season in their lives. Everything was perfect – the sunset light, the anticipation of the arrival of their little girl, […]
