• How would you describe your style?

  I'm a documentary photographer which means I love to be in the moment and capture things as they happen in an authentic and storytelling sort of way. For your family photos I always help guide you to where the light is best and give little fun prompts to get those natural smiles and authentic moments between you all.

• We're nervous of having our photos taken, how can you help??

  I totally understand this, same here!
  I'm super friendly and relaxed and your photos are all about you enjoying time together and definitely not about me and my cameras being in your faces.
  I always take time to help you and your kids get used to me and my cameras before taking photos. I love playing silly games, running around and have even been known to sing baby shark to help your kids have fun and relax. For kids, free to bring snacks, a favourite toy or a little treat as a reward to your shoot if you think it might help. I promise it won't be half as worrying or awkward as you think!

• How long before we have our photos?

  I always try and get your photo galleries out to you within a couple of weeks. This is occasionally a bit longer during a busy wedding season but I know how much you want to see your photos so I try and get them to you as quickly as I can!

• How do we receive our photos?

  I send your online gallery over to you via a link in an email. This can be accessed by anyone you send the link and password to, and you can download your favourite photos as many times as you like.

• What happens if it's pouring with rain on the day of our shoot?

  I'm not afraid of a little rainier a cloudy day. It can be lots of fun getting your wellies on and your photos will still be great even without a great weather day. However, I totally understand how much easier it is to enjoy having your photos taken on a sunny day so I'm very happy to be flexible with all my sessions and can rearrange a date when the weather is better to suit you all.

• Do you travel for family photoshoots?

  I am based in Sussex so usually my family sessions are based in this area. However, I'm more than happy to travel to wherever you are, there may just be travel costs added on depending on where this may be.

• Is your name Olive...or Joy??

  Haha, in fact it's not either! My name is Becky. I've always loved olive trees and my middle name is Joy. I also have two daughters whose middle names are Olive + Joy and they are my biggest inspirations so this is a credit in some small way to them.

• What should we wear?

  I always recommend wearing clothes that you feel comfortable and confident in. These make for the best photos! I also suggest you and your family wear colours that compliment each other and avoid too many different patterns.
