WHAT'S NEXT - WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

If you’d like the look of my style and feel like we would be a great match, then head on over to my contact page to get in touch to tell me all about your awesome plans (I literally do a happy dance every time I get a new wedding enquiry!).

To ensure I can give all my lovely couples the best quality experience and service, I only take on a certain number of weddings a year, so get in touch ASAP to lock your date in the diary!

If I’m available for your date, I’ll send you over my welcome brochure including everything you might need to know to help you in planning the photography of your day to ensure you get the photos of your dreams. Also included in this brochure is my wedding packages pricing and all about me and how I capture the story of a wedding day in detail from the first meeting to delivering those precious photos.

If you both feel like I’m the perfect fit for your wedding day then all that’s needed are your signatures on a contract confirming all the details and a retainer payment of £200 to save your date. You can then tick off finding a photographer on your wedding to-do list, yay!

Along with your contract, I send you over a mini wedding planner to fill in including the timings of your day, any group photos you might like and a few other details to ensure the photography of your day goes seamlessly. This doesn’t have to be completed until a month before your wedding but can really help in planning your day in a way that is perfectly and unapologetically you.

No two weddings are the same and I love working with all my couples individually to ensure that their days and themselves are captured uniquely, authentically and beautifully.

FAQ

  • How would you describe your style?

I'm a documentary photographer which means I love to be in the moment and capture things as they happen in an authentic and storytelling sort of way. For your portraits I always help guide you to where the light is best and give little friendly prompts to get those natural smiles and romantic moments between the two of you.

  • How long have you been a photographer?

Officially, 2014. Unofficially, since I was about 12 and got my hands on my Dad's old Minolta film camera!

  • We're nervous of having our photos taken, how can you help??

I totally understand this, same here!
I'm super friendly and relaxed and your photos are all about you enjoying time together and definitely not about me and my cameras being in your faces.
If you're very nervous about your wedding day photos, then I highly recommend booking a pre-wedding shoot in. These are always fun, relaxed and are the perfect way to dispel any of those pre-wedding photo nerves. I promise it won't be half as worrying or awkward as you think!

  • Are you insured?

Yes! I have professional indemnity and public and products liability insurance.

  • Do you have a backup system in case your camera gets damaged or a SD card corrupts?

Absolutely! I always have two cameras with me on the day, and keep a third in my car just in case. I also carry multiple lenses, batteries and cards. My cameras carry two cards which automatically creates a copy of your photos, so if one card corrupts the other still has everything safely on there.

  • How long before we have our photos?

I always send over a little previews gallery within a couple of days of your wedding. This includes a handful of photos for you to enjoy while you wait for your full gallery which I always aim to get to you within 6-8 weeks of your wedding day (sooner if possible!).

  • What happens if it's pouring with rain on our wedding day?

I've been to many rainy wedding days and they have all been awesome! If you have some group photos planned, I do a quick scout around the venue to find the best sheltered place for your photos and always ensure you still have some lovely portraits of the two of you as well. I always have a big clear umbrella with me and I'm always up for some fun rain photos or some romantic creative backlit shots in the dark for those who are feeling adventurous!

  • What happens if you're ill on the day?

It would take me literally not being able to move to not show up to a wedding! But in all seriousness, I have an amazing network of photographers around me who I can call on should there be any emergency all of whom I would trust with my own wedding day. You wouldn't have to worry about a thing and your photos would still be editing by myself in my signature style.

  • How do we receive our photos?

I send your online gallery over to you via a link in an email. This can be accessed by anyone you send the link and password to, and you and your loved ones can download favourite photos as many times as you like. All my packages also include a USB of all your photos and my top package also includes a bunch of prints too!

  • How many photos do we get?

Loooooads! For a full day of wedding photography you would get 800+. This would include all your photos prepared in my signature style and a lovely bunch of black and white versions of some of those photos too.

  • Do you travel for weddings?

100%! I love travelling and will happily come to wherever you are getting married, be this within the UK or abroad. We work out the travel and accommodation costs and simply add this onto your package price.
I am based in Sussex so don't charge for travel within this area.

  • Do you offer videography?

Yes! I'm so pleased to say that my husband has joined the team as my wedding videographer. Availability is limited, but just let us know you'd like to know more about videography on my contact form - we'd love to capture stills and video of your day together.

  • Is your name Olive...or Joy??

Haha, in fact it's not either! My name is Becky. I've always loved olive trees and my middle name is Joy. I also have two daughters whose middle names are Olive + Joy and they are my biggest inspirations so this is a credit in some small way to them.

  • What else should we ask??

Message me with any other questions big or small!
And be sure to ask yourselves, "Am I doing this for us or for other people?" I totally understand the pressures of planning a wedding day, but your wedding should be completely and unapologetically you.
If you want to arrive at your wedding on a quad bike, do it! If you want to have pizza and ice cream for your food, do it! If you want to wear a pink dress, DO IT. Your day, your story, your memories. I would just love to be there to capture them all!
