Getting married in the winter months is always a bit of a gamble weather wise, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful sunny February day than on the morning of Lydia & Michael’s wedding in Shoreham.

Lydia was getting ready at the family home where she had grown up and upon arrival I was welcomed by the sound of laughter and the smell of a delicious breakfast being prepared. She was surrounded by her family and bridesmaids and the atmosphere was just wonderful. I love capturing the couple of hours before a wedding where the bride is getting ready and the beautiful little details and big emotions of that time.

After her mum had helped her into her dress, Lydia took a few moments to breathe before making her way to the church. As a Shoreham wedding photographer, I absolutely love it when local couples choose me to capture their day. Often I have the honour of photographing weddings in the stunning St Mary de Haura church in the centre of Shoreham-by-Sea, and this was one of those special days. Lydia and her bridesmaids and father entered through the quaint side door of the church which was backlit beautifully and made the moment that much more sacred.
The wait for his bride was finally over and Michael’s face was absolute joy when seeing Lydia walking down the beautiful aisle towards him.

Their ceremony was full of beautiful hymns, readings, moving words and romantic glances. Afterwards they took a few group photos in the sunshine and walked down an aisle of confetti throwers outside of the church (Michael definitely inhaled at lease a handful!) before making their way to their beautiful reception venue.

The sun was just going down when they reached Field Place Manor House venue in Worthing which was the perfect time for a few minutes alone and some sun kissed portraits of just the two of them. Their best friends and bridal party then joined them for some fun photos together before heading into the barn for their evening meal.
Photographing speeches is always such a fun and emotional part of the day, and this day was no exception! After lots of laughs and tears (happy ones!), Lydia and Michael took to the dance floor and got lost in the moment of their favourite song and then enjoyed dancing the night away surrounded by their families and friends. Such a perfect day and I was so honoured to be their wedding photographer!
