When these two got in touch and shared their ideas with me for an urban maternity photoshoot in Brighton I was so excited! They wanted photos that captured the beautiful quirkiness of Brighton while giving them memories of the precious time their baby was growing. Maternity photos in Brighton are always one of my favourites as there are so many amazing places and awesome backdrops to find! I absolutely love bringing the dreams people have in their minds for their maternity photos in Brighton to life and was so happy to explore the back streets and seafront of Brighton with this lovely couple.
So often I photograph families with newborns and young children but I absolutely love it when a “grown up” family choose me to be their family photographer in Brighton too! This family have lived in Brighton and Hove ever since their children were born and it was amazing to go to Brighton beach with them…
It’s always a pleasure to get to know couples a few weeks or months before their big day on an engagement or pre-wedding shoot. Not only does it help us get to know each other before the wedding – but it also gets them used to being in front of the camera. As it happens, I knew Andy and Gen before so it was such a joy to get to photograph them shortly after they got engaged.
I’ve found that engagement photography is such a great bonus for couples because, as I mentioned, it gets them used to being in front of the camera – but more than that – it gives them some perfect, more casual photos, to go alongside their formal looks on the Big Day.
It was such a lovely late-afternoon stroll through Bramber Castle ruins and around the grounds in Steyning. Thanks for the opportunity to do this pre-wedding shoot, guys and I absolutely cannot wait to get your wedding photography to complete the set at your highly-anticipated wedding next week.
There’s always something especially romantic about February weddings, but sometimes you can find yourself at the mercy of the elements! However, a few weeks back now, I was able to share in Scott and Louises’ special day – and the weather stayed calm throughout the whole day. The crisp, almost Spring like, day showcased just some of the awesome Field Place settings and scenery that surrounded this amazing couple.
Both Scott and Louise’s fun and friendly personalities shone through the entire day. It was such a privilege to be asked to capture their marriage and be a part of their infectious joy that quickly spread throughout their guests.
Maybe it was best illustrated by Scott’s ‘being pulled away from the car’ idea, which was a fantastically funny scene to create and capture for them. Either that or Louise’s super-classy denim jacket with her new married name on the back. The day was filled with memorable moments just like these, and I loved every second of it – nearly as much as they clearly did. Congratulations to such a beautiful couple and thank-you for having me at your special celebration.

It has been a tremendous honour to have worked with the Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) here in Brighton over the last year. The charity works around the country to provide houses for parents and families that need emergency accommodation when a child is taken to hospital away from home. As they put it ‘you may need us when the best medical care for your child isn’t close to home’. It’s such an important and wonderful service that enables families to be close to their children during potentially traumatic and certainly emotionally-straining times.
I recently became their photographer when late last year I was asked to come and capture a very special and precious moment. A family who had previously used the Brighton RMHC, and were so touched by its’ impact and support during a difficult season, revisited the house with their two children. It was such a touching moment to see the kids healthy and happy when they ran circles around me, enjoying and remembering the house’s fun activities…
As one of Field Place’s recommended photographers, I was overjoyed to hear that the venue was the national winner at the 2020 Wedding Industry Awards. It’s such an incredible privilege to photograph weddings at this gorgeous venue. The lovely staff and breath-taking scenery all contribute to so many of my favourite Big Day’s to have photographed here.
It’s an honour to have also been used in the advertising materials and promotional adverts that are being used to promote such a prestigious and award-winning venue. I can highly recommend it as a fantastic venue for weddings on the South Coast. It’s no surprise it won the 2020 Wedding Industry Award as best in the country.
Here are some of the highlights from weddings I have been a part of, that were hosted at Field Place.
One of the absolute joys of my job is hearing back from couples when they open up their photos for the first time and get to re-live the magic of their big day. I thrive on providing them with the best possible reaction, and it always encourages me to hear feedback. But one of the bonuses is that, on occasions, my work gets featured in publications around the country. Most recently in this seasons’ edition of Your Sussex Wedding. What a crazy rush to see my work in print! A big thank-you to everyone who I worked with to make it happen.
Bignor Park Estate was shrouded in a cool mist the morning of this beautiful elopement Photography shoot.
Many Sussex wedding suppliers had come together this fresh morning to create something rather special together.
Nikki from The Toast had been collating and sharing her vision of earthen tones, dramatic features and soft textures for months and the anticipation of finally bringing this dream to life was tangible in the air.
The 200 year old stables and coach house at Bignor Park Estate was the perfect backdrop with white washed walls and rustic brickwork flooring. Each supplier brought so much life and creativity to this shoot displaying their talents in such a passionate and yet gentle and intricate way.
The various scenes you will see below showcase everything you would want for a unique and stunning wedding day in Sussex.
As a Sussex wedding photographer it’s always such an honour to be a part of shoots like this where you’re part of something bigger than yourself. There were so many incredible people who came together to make this happen and the photos from this wedding elopement style shoot were really something special.
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Emily for a few years now and I was overjoyed when she told me she was expecting a baby. Sharing my love of photography she totally appreciates capturing fleeting moments and the value of a moment caught in a photo forever. I was so happy to take these photos…
